A contractor's goodbye as the visas come through and Australia beckons

I'm off. To Australia. Me and the wife got our visas in February and we'll be leaving around July or August this year. My name won't be going onto the PCG gone abroad register because it wants to know the ins and outs of a cat's wotsit and I don't want my details spread to other "interested parties".

I wish the PCG all the best for the JR and I hope you sock it to them. I note that the posts of this site do a lot of new labour bashing, but I am disillusioned with the whole lot of them, be they red, blue or yellow. After years of seeing them do what they like in power, and, say anything you want to hear when in opposition. They are all as bad as each other and I'm kissed off with it all. Couple that to just about the worst weather and most expensive living in the world (bar one or two others) and it's easy to see why almost no one I meet these days is optimistic about the future of this country, or is even enjoying living here. The almost universal viewpoint is that they can't stand living in this country any more. Bloody sad isn't it? If you're brave (or maybe daft) enough to stay here I wish good luck; you'll need it.

By the way, to the dickhead who penned the very forgettable "thewelshareinbredf***wits". You are hardly an intellectual challenge to them; are you? Get a life pal. Most of the people in this country are perfectly reasonable and decent. However, in my years of travel I have met people like you. You bore the pants off everyone.

Anyway, to all the great, hardworking, knowledgeable contractors out there; goodbye, good luck and g'day.
