Agents discuss how to grow IT recruiters

The recruitment sector will meet this week to focus on whether and how IT recruiters should look to grow their businesses in 2012.

The meeting will take place under the auspices of recruitment body, REC. Its Head of Policy, Gillian Econopouly, said: "The technology recruitment market has shown encouraging signs over recent months. This week's meeting will provide practical analysis of how the sector can hope to grow in 2012 and hone in on some of the key external factors that we need to be aware of and influence.

"On the policy side, we will take stock of where we are on issues such as skills academies, apprenticeships, IR35, immigration and pensions reform. We will also be seeking member input into the REC's Flexible Work Commission and other proactive campaigns to help the technology sector compete and thrive."
