Budget 2003 (5): IR35 for Nannies

IR35 was extended to cover domestic workers from today where they provide their services through a limited Company.

The original IR35 excluded companies providing services domestically and with the increase in NI coupled with the reduction in Corporation tax there has been a rapid rise of Nannies leaving their employment in Sloane Square on a Friday and turning up on Monday to look after little Rupert and Abigail as Sloane Nannies Ltd.

This latest measure will ensure that unless they have a substitution clause and are not operating under the Supervision Direction and Control of Mr and Mrs Fortescue Smythe they will be paying tax and NICs as before.

We expect a vigorous campaign group to be formed shortly: -Professional Nannies Group - run by Nannies for Nannies, who will engage expensive legal and political assistance to fight for the right to be in nappies on your own account. - INOYOA!
