Contractor's IR35 attack becomes Spectator cover story

IT contractor Andrew Duncan has publicised the full scale of his (and many others') discontent with New Labour's drafting and implementation of the controversial IR35 legislation.

IT contractor Andrew Duncan has spoken for many contractors as he told how he became disillusioned with the promises of New Labour and the impact that the 'stealth tax' will have on his business. The prominent Spectator magazine has published his article entitled 'Why I no longer love Tony' as its cover story and has attracted a mass of praise since it hit newsagents' shelves. Many contractors have reported that they have been sending copies of the article to their MPs.

Andrew Duncan, previously the Photo, News then Deputy Editor for the Sheffield University Students' Newspaper 'DARTS', won the Guardian/NUS award for best student's newspaper twice, and came runner up once. He also worked for the Student Union magazine 'Ink Inc.', which also won the Guardian/NUS award for best college magazine where he once interviewed Barry Norman.

He also previously edited the Medical Student Union magazine 'Northwing' which won the BMA award for best medical students' magazine two years running. Andrew is now a Java web development consultant, Oracle DBA and Perl trainer and is co-authoring a forthcoming book, Oracle and Open Source.

Andrew, a PCG member, donated his fee for the article to the PCG's judicial review campaign fund.
