Freelancers 'class action' against Chamberlain Scott

Freelancers who have been affected by the collapse of recruitment company Chamberlain Scott International Limited (CSI) have an opportunity to join together to co-ordinate action against the company.

TreasureGuard Limited has been approached by a number of freelancers who were working through Chamberlain Scott International Limited (CSI).

TreasureGuard has agreed to act as coordinator for any freelancers and any creditors in any action against CSI and its former directors and will be advised by the law firm Burges Salmon in any proceedings.

Chamberlain Scott recently entered into administration with a number of creditors, including freelancers, reportedly owed considerable sums of money from the company.

TreasureGuard is a Bristol-based tax, law and accountancy practice, which has already been involved with a number of IR35 cases for freelancers.

David Greene, Business Manager, TreasureGuard Limited, said: "Any individual or company that has lost, or is concerned about losing money as a result of recent events at CSI, or is a creditor of CSI is invited to contact us.

"In the meantime, before sending any timesheets or invoices to any company with a similar name to 'Chamberlain Scott' contractors may wish to contact us or the administrators, or take independent legal advice."
