HMRC business open day in Norfolk
Small firms in Norfolk are invited to a business open day with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on November 2, 2006
Free information on a wide range of topics, including income tax, VAT, online services, age legislation, and importing and exporting - will be available at the Business Advice Open Day.
Information will also be available on the new Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), which comes into effect in April 2007. Under new CIS, there will be changes to requirements for contractors who engage subcontractors in the construction industry.
Organised by HMRC and sponsored by Business Link, the Open Day brings together a wide variety of organisations under one roof. The event is a unique opportunity to obtain quality advice in a relaxed and informal setting by visiting the many stands in the main exhibition.
A series of one hour seminars on specialist topics will run throughout the day, offering in-depth help and advice on matters such as new rules on business waste, family business succession, new fire safety legislation and managing business risk. There will also be an opportunity for more informal advice at the exhibition stands.

The HMRC Business Advice Open Day takes place between 9:00 and 4:00 on Thursday November 2, 2006 at The Holiday Inn, Norwich City Airport, Cromer Road, Norwich, NR6 6JA. Seminars run from 9:15 to 3:45. Entry to the event is free and you do not have to book to attend the main exhibition. Places at seminars are, however, limited and can become oversubscribed.
