New Domain Names

Six new internet domain names look set to be given the official go ahead in November by ICANN, the organisation which oversees the net.

Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) outlines the new domain suffixes of;

• .biz - businesses
• .name - individuals
• .museum - museums
• .pro - professionals
• .aero - aviation
• .coop - cooperatives
• .info - general information

are set to get the go-ahead due to the rapid growth in internet use. This unexpected rise has meant domain name registrations have far exceeded anyone's, including ICANN's expectations.
