Regulation doubts push Andy White's board to invest in the USA

respect for putting your head above the parapet :-)

I was at a board meeting for one of my companies this week and the agenda had a third taken up with:-

Stakeholder Pensions

Agency regulations

IR35

We are planning an office move and doubling of size over the next few years. The impact of these regulations (or rather the uncertainty of the impact of these regulations) has caused us to question the wisdom of that decision.

As a defensive move we are increasing investment in the USA.

George "Dubbya", with his programme of tax cuts, coupled with the "can do" ethos of the US economy, will ensure that the USA takes resources (Human and monetary Capital!) away from the UK.

The chances of growing a UK Microsoft (If we wanted such a beast :-)) are receding.

Regards

Andy White
