The role of British Asians in small business
An article in India's Telegraph examines the role the British Asian community has played in small businesses in the UK.
The article, 'Indians teach UK how to do business', follows a survey by New York-based Forbes magazine which lists Britain and India at number two and three in the league of countries with the most successful 'small-sized businesses'. The US is number one.
Srichand Hinduja, the head of the Hinduja group of companies which has businesses in America, Britain and India, is quoted as saying that people tracing their roots to India have helped change the way the British think about business.
He highlighted information technology, retail and wholesale sales, consumer goods and cash and carry as areas in which Indians have made a big impact.
