Thousands petition Government over income shifting
The online petition against the Government's 'family business tax' proposals closes today (24 April) with over 7,500 signatures – putting it in the top 20 of the 6,500 petitions on the 10 Downing Street website.
The petition, launched by Professional Contractors Group (PCG), has to date attracted more support than calls to reduce fuel duty, not to extend pre-charge detention, and to protect small shops.
PCG's managing director John Brazier said: "PCG would like to thank every one of the 7,500 people who signed the petition.
"Communicating the strength of feeling among the business community played a huge role in persuading the Government to delay and rethink their proposals; this e-petition was a key part of that, along with the Early Day Motion and the letters sent by PCG members and others to their MPs."
