No 'personal promises' to self-employed

The Labour Party's 'personal promises' section on its website omits to include the self-employed as a category in 'employment status'.

In a second snub to the self-employed - the first being Cabinet Minister Alan Milburn's removal of the self-employed from statistics to explain a drop in income - participants in the survey are given a number of options on the website.

When the information is submitted on the form, See Our Promises to You, it produces a personalised pledge from Labour explaining 'how we will improve Britain and how Britain will be better for you'.

The form asks for details about location, gender, home ownership, children and employment status. In the employment status category, a drop down menu provides a number of alternatives:
